Annually, the first Wednesday following Memorial Day, the sleepy village of Williamsport in rural Pickaway County comes to life as we join in an exciting four-day celebration of community pride. The Deercreek Dam Days Festival is the showcase event of our community and on Saturday morning we gather to highlight health and wellness with our annual Deercreek Dam Days 5K. Proceeds are used by the DDD Festival Committee to fund the annual event.
The 2015 Deercreek Dam Days Festival is a fun-filled family event featuring rides, food, live entertainment, and parades. It serves as a showcase to the power of community involvement. Area organization and non-profits come together and join to demonstrate the pride we garner for our small-town community.
On early Saturday morning we join to highlight health and wellness in our annual 5K/10K. All proceeds go directly to the Deercreek Dam Days Festival Committee a registered 501(c)(3) and are used to fund the annual festival.
How Your Support Helps
The Deercreek Dam Days Festival Committee is comprised of area residents and business owners that are committed volunteers who work year-round to organize and plan the annual Deercreek Dam Days Festival Committee. With limited area businesses to offer sponsorship funding, the festival committee works diligently to come up with creative methods to fund the annual event. The committee is committed to not only organizing a fun event, but one that is structured around education, health, and wellness. We conduct a Health Fair, Youth Bicycle Rodeo and Safety Demonstration, and Kids Fest--a free event for area youth that features both fun and informational activities.
The festival serves as a fundraising vehicle for area organizations who help with the Community Fish Fry and individual fundraisers. The Williamsport Youth Ball Association, the Heber Lodge, United Methodist Church Food Panty, Monroe Men's Club, area Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, and local 4-H groups are all beneficiaries of fund raising endeavors that take place during the festival.
